Our Beliefs

Regardless of where we've been, what we’re struggling with, and what questions we might have…

Each one of us was created to LEARN, LIVE, and LOVE in a way that would bring impact, healing, and change to our world. We were designed uniquely to each play a part in God’s larger plan for justice, peace, and reconciliation in a world full of brokenness. Our desire to Learn, Love, and Live is rooted in what Jesus taught while he was on this earth:

1) Be And Make Disciples: The Great Commission
Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

2) Love God, Love Others: The Greatest Commandments
“Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?” Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”

We hope you will join us on this journey…

Your friends @ SEAC.

Worship Together

Join us in our weekly service on Sundays @ 11:15 am

We hold our services every Sunday morning. Coffee and muffins are served from 11:00-11:15AM which is also a time for people to get to know each other better and catch up on each other's lives.

At 11:15AM we have our community celebration during which we sing, learn and reflect on the hope and faith we have in Jesus Christ. We also regularly invite congregation members to share stories on their journey with Christ.

We hope to see you soon!

About

In his Report to General Assembly 2014, President Dave Hearn writes:

It is time for a new dream. One of the profound realities is that the nations of the world are coming to Canada. The Alliance must develop a new agility that allows us to move quickly enough to seize the opportunities that God brings to us. Over the years, we have operated with two strategic plans, one for our domestic or national interests and another for our global or international interests.

It is time to have a unified strategy, a global plan that allows us to work more effectively in this time of rapid change. We are calling this global plan the Five “S” Strategy— Sea-to-Sea, Sun, Sand, Silk, and Spice—all integrated in a global thrust to reach the least–reached people in our world.

Least-reached people groups are those in which evangelical Christians comprise less than 2% of the population. According to Joshua Project, there are over 6,600 unreached people groups representing 42.1% of all the world’s people groups.

Dave continues, "We need to rise up with renewed boldness to risk for the sake of those who have never heard. In the next 10 years, we are committed to making our greatest impact for the Kingdom."

In the Five "S" Strategy, the world is organized into the Five”S” Regions, which are constituted by the following geographical areas:

Sea-to-Sea (From Coast to Coast to Coast)

Caribbean Sun (South and Central America/Mexico)

Desert Sand (Africa)

Silk Road (Europe, Russia, Arabian Peninsula, Central Asia)

Asian Spice (Asia)

Rev. Genghis Chan

Senior Pastor

 genghis.chan@seachurch.ca

I've been serving as Senior Pastor for SEAC 25 years since 1999. Married with three wonderful children. Previously I worked for Calgary Chinese Alliance Church as Assistant Pastor of English Ministry from 1993 to 1998. I now lead a team of 7 pastors at SEAC as well as being a member of the board for Far East Broadcast Canada (FEBC), Chinese Christian Mission (CCM), C&MA Western Canadian District (DEXCOM) and the Winter Conference Foundation. Formerly elected and served as chairman for the Canadian Chinese Alliance Churches Association (CCACA), I am also involved in a number of fundraising projects for theological education at Ambrose University College and missions relief agencies overseas.

Rev. James Law

Young Adults and Worship Ministries

Born and raised in Calgary, James attended SAIT after graduating high school where he took Architectural Technologies. After working in the custom homes business for half a year James met his wife and also felt God’s calling into full time ministry.  He then went to Ambrose University College to receive his Bachelor in Church Ministry.  James’ passion is discipleship and nurturing others to a deeper relationship with God.  He loves basketball, biking, art, video games and is a little bit of a foodie.

Rev. Dan Harstad

English Ministry Pastor

dan.harstad@seachurch.ca

Being at South Edmonton Alliance as the Lead English Pastor has been quite a privilege and one of those special experiences of our life. Linda and I moved our little family from Wisconsin in 1980 to attend seminary in Regina. Life has certainly been an adventure since that time! We have served six churches in Canada, the Philippines and in Kuwait. We very much enjoy our three children, a son in law, a daughter in law and four grandchildren. Linda and I love to travel and especially when it takes us to Africa to visit our daughter and family who live in Kampala, Uganda!
